Sterile Water for Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, distilled water intended for intravenous use after the addition of an appropriate solute. It can also serve as a dispensing container for diluents. No preservatives or other substances have been incorporated. The pH level is 5.5 (ranging from 5.0 to 7.0), and the osmolarity is 0.

Sterile Water for Injection, USP is utilized solely for fluid replacement once suitable additives have been added to achieve isotonicity and to act as a medium for certain medications.

After properly mixing in the required additives, the dosage is generally based on the patient’s age, weight, clinical status, and laboratory results. Please refer to the instructions provided with the additive medication.

Do not keep any unused portions of Sterile Water for Injection, USP. Ensure thorough mixing once additives are added, and do not store any solutions that contain additives.
